Fresh off our historic sale over Ben Hogan's 1953 irons for nearly $250,000, we are pleased to offer another set of Ben Hogan's gamers. These prototype irons were obtained by our consignor directly from Ben Hogan's estate many years ago.

Ben Hogan famously left MacGregor to start his own equipment company in 1953. At MacGregor, Ben Hogan often played a Parmaker iron, and production models of these irons were also released to the public. Now with his own company, and in his quest to create the perfect irons, he infamously created these prototype irons copying the name and many characteristics of MacGregor's irons. They looked strikingly like MacGregor's irons, but were now being made by the Ben Hogan Company. Worried about a potential lawsuit from MacGregor, Hogan reportedly had to shelve his plans to produce any more of these irons. The offered clubs are Hogan's personal working set - presumably the only such set that exists.
