We are huge believers in the future of PSA encapsulated golf memorabilia. The rest of the sports collecting world has long been appreciating PSA authenticated and "slabbed" items, but the golf world has lagged behind. We hope that this "Modern Collector" auction will help shine light on some items that we feel will play an important role in the next generation of golf collecting.
This is a 1997 Masters Badge that is so rare that most collectors do not even know it exists. This is the elusive "No Price" 1997 Masters Badge. Almost all badges from the 1997 Masters Tournament contained the price listed as $100, the comically low face value of a badge that was selling on the secondary market for $10,000 that year during Masters Week. A small number of badges were produced without a price listed, likely given to VIPs and a select number of people that were not charged for their Masters Badges that year.
Only 3 "No Price" 1997 Masters Badges from Tiger Woods' breakout victory have surfaced and have been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA.
