Here it is - perhaps the most talked about Tiger Woods putter on the planet outside of Tiger's own legendary red dot gamer.

As many of you are aware, this famous Teryllium gamer of Tiger's has been trading on fractional platform Collectable for the past couple years - most recently with a market cap of $647,850. Collectable's shareholders recently voted to send this putter to the auction block, a decision that will surely be celebrated throughout the golf collecting world.

Tiger Woods collectors and Scotty Cameron collectors are aligned in what they consider the Holy Grail - finding a Scotty Cameron putter that was actually used by Tiger Woods himself. In a world where Tiger's personal Scotty Cameron unused backup putters are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, what's the value of a Scotty Cameron that can actually be placed in Tiger's hands?

The offered circa 1997-1998 Scotty Cameron Newport heel-stamped TeI3 Teryllium putter with T.W. stamped on the toe was personally owned and used by Tiger Woods. Tiger gave this putter to his friend and then-Isleworth neighbor NFL Hall of Famer Andre Reed, who attests to the fact that Tiger used this putter and personally gave it to him. Reed kept the putter for many years before auctioning it to benefit the Andre Reed Foundation.

The winner of that auction supporting the Andre Reed Foundation sent this putter to Scotty Cameron' studio to obtain a Certificate of Authenticity. Instead he received a phone call from Scotty Cameron's longtime right hand man Hank George, who put the phone on speakerphone with the man himself - Scotty Cameron.

"Do you realize what you have here?"

It was then explained that as soon as Scotty examined this putter, he knew it was Tiger's gamer. Scotty remembered all about the custom shaft that Tiger required, and how Scotty had to make a custom over-the-hosel connection from the shaft to the putter head. Yes, it is the find of a lifetime - one of Tiger's actual used Scotty Cameron putters.

And then here is the kicker - Scotty Cameron wanted the putter back. What would it take for Scotty Cameron to get it back so that it could be displayed in his gallery? It appears that even the man himself doesn't have a Tiger Woods gamer from 1997.

The owner politely declined Scotty Cameron's offer, but Scotty Cameron graciously issued a Certificate of Authenticity confirming that he indeed made this putter for Tiger Woods.

Even casual golf fans know how selective Tiger Woods is with his gamers. Tiger has used the same red dot Newport II off and on for over 25 years. But back in 1996-late 1998, Tiger actually used a handful of other Scotty Cameron putters, and put at least a half dozen in play on the PGA Tour. The collecting market is completely devoid of actual used putters of Tiger Woods, which is why even Tiger's untouched backups sell for such lofty sums.

This circa 1997-1998 Titleist Scotty Cameron TeI3 Newport putter shows lots of use, and has a dent in the shaft, no doubt what ended its useful life.

In addition to the Certificate of Authenticity from Scotty Cameron, and the Letter of Provenance from Andre Reed, this putter also comes with a detailed letter of analysis from John Taube, who believes this putter was used on the PGA Tour in 1998 and potentially in Tiger's hand during the 1998 US Open week.
