This is what's known as a "ghost ticket" - a ticket so rare that for years many did not even know it existed.
Tickets from Tiger Woods' first US Amateur in 1994 are hard to find, but they can be found. Tickets from Tiger's 3rd US Amateur in 1996 are somewhat plentiful. But tickets to Tiger's 2nd US Amateur victory at Newport Country Club are impossible to find.
Why? Well, instead of traditional tickets or badges, the grounds passes issued to patrons in 1995 were stickers that were to be affixed to the patron's clothing while attending the tournament. And those stickers were only given to patrons at the gate. Needless to say, these stickers were simply discarded immediately after the event. To this day, only 3 examples exist on the PSA Pop report.
Here is a breakdown on tickets to Tiger's US Amateur victories in the PSA Population Report:
1994 - 26 tickets
1995 - 3 tickets
1996 - 39 tickets
This is the very first time that we have located a 1995 US Amateur ticket. If the collectible ticket market continues to appreciate, you can expect this to always remain Tiger Woods' most difficult Major Championship victory ticket - and by a large margin.
