Offered here is a stunning original Type 1 photograph from the first-ever Masters Tournament. In this high clarity wide shot of the course, Bobby Jones can be seen in the distance on Augusta National's 3rd hole (now the iconic 12th hole) with playing partner Paul Runyan during Thursday's 1st Round. The 1934 Augusta National Invitation Tournament was the only "Masters Tournament" competed with the reversed hole configuration. This photograph is one of the few known photos that provide us with an early look at the Augusta National course in 1934 - and look how rough and incomplete it looks! A wonderful early look at Amen Corner - 24 years before Herbert Warren Wind coined the term.

This 7"x9" photo is in exceptional condition. Quite significantly, it has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1 photo. The photographer captured a very similar image (but in a vertical format on a different day with a different group on the tee) in the photo we sold last November for over $82,000 - the record amount for a golf photograph.
